About This Episode

So much of who we are as adults is formed by the experiences that we had while growing up. In today’s episode, I am joined by two of my business friends. Our conversation is inspired by some of the experiences we had growing up and our relationships with our parents. By the end of the episode, you will understand why some people behave the way they do, and why they believe in what they believe in – it’s all rooted in their childhood!

A bit about my two friends: Nicole Rhone is a capacity coach, the host of the Flow and Flourish podcast, and a transformational speaker who helps high-performing women increase their capacity by creating a balance between their personal and professional lives. Latika Vines is the founder, career strategist and coach of Visionary Initiatives, LLC. She’s on a mission to equip working moms in the federal government with the clarity, competence and control to successfully balance and have a fulfilling career.  She also provides organizations with career growth workshops and tools to develop their employees, increase employee satisfaction, and enhance retention.

In a nutshell, we speak about:

  • The kind of relationships that Nicole and Latika had with their parents from when they were kids and growing up.
  • How to learn from our parents’ mistakes and avoid making the same mistakes.
  • Changing the trajectory of our families based on how we were raised up.
  • How Nicole’s and Latika’s relationships with their parents have impacted their growing up into womanhood.
  • How childhood experiences have impacted Nicole’s and Latika’s romantic relationships.
  • Setting the bar high for your children and helping them achieve the goals they’ve set.
  • The importance of openly expressing love and validation to our kids.
  • How the father-daughter relationship sets the tone for your daughter’s romantic relationships.
  • Tips that have helped Nicole and Latika heal differently.

… and so much more!

I am really humbled by the openness and vulnerability demonstrated by Nicole and Latika in this episode. Tune in to listen to their personal stories and experiences! These are the types of conversations that will help create awareness and break generational curses.
